Allow me to
extend my heartfelt thanks giving to ALLAH who has blessed the efforts of
the State of Perak Islamic Religious Department in publishing the first
edition of Perak Halal Directory for the year 2006/2007. As a
government body which has a role in executing the halal certification in the
State of Perak and monitoring the abidance of the entrepreneurs who possess
the Halal certification, it has become the responsibility of JAIPk to offer
guidance and advice to the community in PERAK in particular and Malaysia
generally concerning the halal status for products in the market.
This guide will list all entrepreneurs who already possess the halal
certificate not only for food and health products but also for
cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and food premises and abattoirs.
As a fast developing state and in the effort to elevate agricultural
industry certainly many local merchandises and products need
extensive marketing locally or abroad. With the existence of this
halal directory, it will be reference for Muslim consumers so that
they need not be hesitant in using the said product.
Besides listing the companies that possess the halal certification,
this directory also provides guidance and information regarding food
and consumables in Islam, the rules, criteria and application
guidance for halal certification in the state of Perak.
I
take this opportunity to thank the Perak state government head of
administration for support extended, the officers and staff of JAIPk
especially the Research Division, the Perak State Tourism Action
Council for its willingness to take up the Perak tourism product
space, enterprises, individuals and every one who has contributed
directly or indirectly to successfully enable the publishing of the Perak Halal Directory 2006/2007. Hopefully this cooperation will
continue in times to come.
