It gives me
great pleasure to convey my message in this directory-cum journal,
entitled Perak Halal Directory.
I would
like to take this opportunity to congratulate Jabatan Agama Islam Perak (JAIPk)
for their untiring efforts in successfully producing this publication. The
articles written in this publication would inevitably serve as a powerful
platform to create a better understanding of muslim consumers' demand among
Malaysian entrepreneurs in the food and other sectors. It has indeed helped in
disseminating relevant and useful information as regards to Halal matters.
With this
useful publication in place, bigger market share will be tapped by the Halal
food manufacturers, producers, retailers and traders. Halal products are
applicable not only to muslims but also to non-muslims, as its preparation and
handling warrant a clean and hygienic environment which is safe for everyone.
As a state
which receives tourists from many different countries, it is inevitable that food becomes as
important factor especially for those who are muslims. With the publication
of this directory, it is able to provide guidelines for them to savour halal
food without hesitation. Inadvertently, this will raise the economic status
of
manufacturers who possess the halal certification.
I am delighted to
note that JAIPk is also developing an on-line directory on the world
wide web site, www.perakhalal.com.my, to complement the printed medium. I believe
this initiative would definitely help halal manufacturers in the
state of Perak be accessible to both the domestic and global audience.
Last but
not least, I would like to extend my utmost appreciation to JAIPk for the
excellent work and to
continue publishing this directory as a service to the public and as a means to
promote Halal Products of Perak. The state government fully support this noble
endeavour together with the
development of the on-line directory.
